Eddies coworkers are sad and still can't believe that Eddie has died.
Eddie shows how much he wishes that he could speak to his dad, or have his dad acknowledge him
This shows Eddie's terrible memories of his dad beating him and his brother Joe in one of his drunken rages.
They were waiting in the morning to have Eddie walk into work like he always did. They can't believe he is really dead.
