The Connector

The part of the book on p.93 when the captian is talking about sacrifices and how they are a part of life and everybody makes them. He says sometimes people regret them, and sometimes they know it is the right thing to do. In my life time I did not yet have to make many sacrifices, but one I made was when I didnt go out to west point the vacation spot wiht my friend and her family. Instead, I stayed home and took care of my grandpa after he got out of tripple bi base surgery. This was a sacarfice that I did not regret because I know that this was the right thing to do. Making this decsion actually made me closer with my grandpa. Could you relate to a situation like this ?

On p. 85 the Captian is talking about how he comes from three generations of military, and how his father would treat him like he was always in war. My grandpa had been in a family that was always going into the military and his father would always bounce a quater off his bed just like the captians dad did. Is anyone in your family in the military?
