Connector

connection #1:
Part of book- pg. 77-79, It is Eddie's birthday and his friends and family are over his house to wish him goodbye because he is going to war. In this scene Eddie and Marguerite walk along the promenade to say their goodbyes.
Connection- The connection I have made from this scene was that it is similar in what is going on today with the war. Everyday people are being called in to fight and have to say their goodbyes to their loved ones sooner than they had hoped. I loved reading the part where Eddie and Marguerite walk along the promenade to say their goodbyes and promise to stay with eachother. Soldiers today, like Eddie, may have had a plans on getting married or starting a relationship and unfortunately these soldier just have to put their lives on hold to go fight in the war.

connection #2:
Part of book- p.82-83, Eddie is convinced that something/someone ran into the burning barn.
Connection- When soldiers go to war, many of them come back paranoid by the horrible things they have seen there. This part reminds me of that because after being at war for such a long time and seeing people being killed, you could start to go crazy and Eddie starts to do that here.
