Summarizer

Key Points:

1. The Captain explains to Eddie how he "took his leg to save his life."
2. The second lesson Eddie learned was about sacrifice, and how it is a part of life is not something to regret.
3. We learn the captain had been waiting for Eddie to accept the fact that he had shot him and for a good reason.
4. Eddie wants to learn what had happened to the little girl but the Captain says he can't tell him.

I agree with the key points Marisa put. These are very important parts of the part we had read, and without Eddies forgiveness, the place where the Captain was at would remain in smog. Though when Eddie had finally forgave him, the place cleared up as the Captains conscience did. Marisa got all of the great key points.

I also agree with these key points. They're the most important parts of the book. They are all about sacrifice and the lesson the Captain was trying to teach Eddie.

The captain taking his leg to save his life is important because it affects everything for the rest of his life.

I agree because everyone has to sacrifice something in their life at least once

This is important because Eddie is coming to peace with himself that him being shot in the leg was a good thing compared to what could have happened.

This is important because it may be something that we learn later on in the book. Also it could go along with the idea of sacrifice.
